About Me
Dear visitors,
My name is Isabelle Fontaine; I am an official Venice guide and have lived in Italy since 1996. Needless to say, I am passionate about this beautiful city, whose history has literally captivated me.
I’ll keep my introduction brief:
my tours of Venice are very varied. It’s interesting to tailor them to where you’re staying, in any of the city’s six Sestieri. The beauty of our profession lies in its diversity, and in discovering new perspectives every day to keep things fresh.
I am particularly fond of our museums: the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Basilica, the Accademia and its magnificent paintings, the Great School of St Roch decorated by Tintoretto, San Giovanni e Paolo, the Frari Basilica…
Then there are my personal favourites. Castello, where I lived for 17 years, and the Jewish Ghetto, which holds a special place in my heart.
What more can I say? I look forward to sharing a moment rich in diversity with you, introducing you to my unique tours, and bringing to life the splendour of La Serenissima, which for many centuries embodied the perfection of its executive, judicial and legislative powers.
