Stevenson’s path in the Cevennes
The great path of the GR70 is not a legend. It is indeed the great path that the Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson took in 1878. Eager for adventure and inspiration, he left accompanied by a donkey on the paths that go from the Cevennes to the doors of the Massif Central. You will be immersed in the heart of a wild and green nature. The total route is 220 km, but there are several sections for all levels of walkers.
The Vermeille Coast with its sparkling colors
Going down from Perpignan to the Spanish border, you will be subjugated by the vermeil coast which is also called the coast of Roussillon. There are a thousand and one treasures that follow one another along the sea. It all starts in the charming village of Collioure with its charming colored houses. Here, the pictorial movement of fauvism was born with Henri Matisse as the first. All along the cobbled streets of the town, you will discover reproductions of their works. As you go up to Fort Saint-Elme, you will have access to the coastal path and will perhaps continue your route towards the charming small seaside resort of Port-Vendres and then Banyuls-sur-Mer with all along a succession of creeks and beaches.
