Five ideas for guided tours in Ibiza

• Ses Salines Nature Reserve

  The Ses Salines park is a secluded and perfectly protected area in the south of the island. The whole area is made up of dunes, salt marshes that glow pink to green, depending on the stage of salt evaporation, and wild beaches, such as those of Es Cavallet or Es Codolar. The whole area is protected and can be visited on foot or by bicycle. You can come and observe a great variety of migratory birds, including many pink flamingos. Your walks will take you through marvelous landscapes, and in the waters, the fabulous spectacle of the posidonia, these underwater flowers that live among the algae, will enchant you.

• Sol d’en Serra

  One of the jewels of Ibiza is the almost secret beach of Sol d’En Serra. This magical place is located in the northeast of Ibiza, 5 kilometers from the village of Santa Eulalia. One would almost have the impression to be in a private place, so much the place remains protected. It is by continuing on a dead end road that we discover a breathtaking panorama, with the Mediterranean surrounded by cliffs, which spreads out before us. Below, a pebble beach, where divers glide in the crystal clear waters. To make the most of this place, come in the morning to admire the sunrise. Be careful, from 6 pm, the shade completely covers the place.

• Es Canar

  The village of Es Canar is an emblematic place of the island of Ibiza. Indeed, it is here that the first hippies settled down to live, and it is here that the first big parties began, which had nothing to do with the sometimes too commercial side that they know today. There is still an extraordinary market. Punta Arabi is located on the avenue of the same name, and is open every Wednesday from May to October. The locals sell all kinds of handicrafts, clothing, jewelry and art. The resort is a very family-friendly place with many hotels, which overlook the beach, and there is even a small port at the end.

• Island of Formentera

  For a day or more of peace and quiet, what better than a trip to the small neighboring island of Formentera. It is located only 6 kilometers and 30 minutes by boat from Ibiza. The places remain little inhabited, with beautiful wild beaches, and always a blue and limpid water. Among these beaches, do not miss Ses Illetes, the most paradisiacal and also the most frequented. Apart from the beaches, you can discover beautiful little villages, such as San Francesco Xavier, with its little houses with whitewashed walls, or Salina, with its port and its beautiful Marina. Here you can rent bicycles and scooters, and visit the rest of the island to Es Pujols, which covers part of the park of Ses Salines; or go north to the village of Es Calo, with its small coves and secret beaches.

• Sant Joan de Labritja

  If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parties and the hectic nightlife and rediscover more authenticity, head to the north of the island to the small town of Sant Joan de Labritja, which is located in an unspoiled area. You can discover all around the most typical villages of Ibiza. In addition to being a very pleasant place, it is the ideal place to go for beautiful hikes in very diverse landscapes: preserved pine forests, paths bypassing small streams or climbing high cliffs. You will walk along coves along the coast and the beautiful beaches of Cala Xarraca, Cala de San Vicente or Portinatx.
